  1. Hardware requirements:
  2.     - 80486 or better MPC 2 compatible computer
  3.     - 8 MB RAM
  4.     - at least 256 color VGA board (640x480),
  5.       for optimum color presentation are 16 bit 
  6.       color depth recommended
  7.     - CD-ROM drive (double-speed)
  8.     - Sound board

  11. Software requirements:
  12.     - MS Windows 3.1 or higher
  13.     - QuickTime for Windows 2.03 or higher (QT 2.03 on CD-ROM)

  16. How to install QuickTime:
  17.     Choose Run from the File Menu. Type "D:\QT_INST.EXE" ,
  18.     where D: is your CD-ROM drive and click OK.

  21. Getting "100 Masterpieces" started:
  22.  
  23.     First make sure QuickTime is installed.
  24.  
  25.     Microsoft Windows 3.1
  26.         Choose Run from the File Menu. Type "D:\START.EXE" ,
  27.         where D: is your CD-ROM drive and click OK.
  28.  
  29.     Microsoft Windows 95:
  30.         The CD-ROM "100 Masterpieces" is provided with an 
  31.         auto-start. 
  32.         After inserting the CD-ROM, the application is loaded 
  33.         automatically. You can stop the auto-start function by 
  34.         pushing the shift button while the CD is inserted. 
  35.         By clicking the CD icon with the right mouse button, 
  36.         you can activate either start "100 Masterpieces", the 
  37.         QuickTime installation program or the 'Read me' file.
  38.         In case you receive an error message during the auto-start 
  39.         function, quit "100 Masterpieces" and install 
  40.         QuickTime for Windows before restarting the application.

  43. Getting "100 Masterpieces" to stop:
  44.     Click the quit button in the application (found on the 
  45.     rotating chair), or push the ESCAPE key (not recommended).

  48. Options:
  49.     After the introductory animation, you can choose to view the 
  50.     Museum QuickTime VR movie in either low, or high resolution.
  51.     The default setting is "high resolution".
  52.     If some problems occur, or if panning in the QuickTime VR scene
  53.     is very slow, restart "100 Masterpieces" and choose the "low
  54.     Resolution" viewing mode.
